WHO AM I?
What happens when you hit the eva lcl entry plug
Howdy, I'm Thomas Marshall. I grew up down in the South coast and ever since I can remember, I've always felt this distinct connection to cinema past and present. Although my interests in other careers sparked and then smouldered, my love for film never dimmed. Especially now, after learning the ins and outs of the technical side of film-making, I still have this burning desire to give back to the medium in any way possible, through any role big or small. To me, it's only right to help build the community that has already given me so much.
So here is my attempt at doing just that. I've already completed my bachelor of film degree and have met some wonderful people already. But, I can't explain how keen I am to continue on making more good stuff and building some beautiful connections along the way.
WHAT IS CRITICAL BUZZKILL?
Critical (Sounds like kri·tuh·kl)
Expressing adverse or disapproving comments or judgements.
Buzzkill (Sounds like buhz·kil)
A person or thing that has a depressing or dispiriting effect.
Those may look like the start of your average best man's speech. But unlike a best man's speech, the marriage of these 2 words not only sounds cool, but it is an instance where a double negative can result in something positive and interesting (Sorry couples that got married to fix their relationship.) Initially, CRITICAL BUZZKILL was the title of some scrappy revenge idea (Concept intro seen on left) I had when I first got started on this "must make movies" saga of my life. And while that idea has since fizzled out, I've rehomed it for my own creative brand image. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter what it means. It sounds cool so what's there to think about?
WHERE AM I?
I am currently living at a share house in Chippendale right next to Central station, which is a blessing and a curse.
